'Convergence 1' published in CoMA's Immediate Pieces Anthology

'Convergence 1' has been published as part of Contemporary Music for All's Immediate Pieces Anthology. The collection, comprised of 20 scores, introduces repertoire that can be performance-ready with less than an hour of rehearsal to be used by amateurs, students, teachers, professionals and anyone else looking for a quick way to get involved in making contemporary music.

Rob Hughes announced as RLPO Rushworth Composition Prize Winner

Liverpool Philharmonic have announced Rob Hughes as the winner of the 2026-27 Rushworth Prize for Composition. In association with The Rushworth Foundation and The Ivors Academy, the prize provides early-career composers with an exceptional range of opportunities to create new work and build long-term collaborative and creative relationships with Liverpool Philharmonic.

The prize includes a commission for Liverpool Philharmonic's contemporary music group Ensemble 10:10, which will be premiered in the 2026/27 season.

Manifold performing at Curio Music Festival

Rob Hughes and Josef Clare will be performing together as 'Manifold', as part of Curio Music Festival in Manchester. They will be debuting a set of collaboratively composed works for cello and live electronics.

Catching My Stalker Broadcast on
Channel 4

'Catching My Stalker', a true-crime documentary from Story Films Ltd. directed by Helen Waddell, was broadcast on Channel 4, and is now available to stream.

The film features an original score by Rob, commissioned by Helen and Story Films Ltd.

Britten Sinfonia
Opus 1 Scheme

Rob is part of the 2025 Opus 1 Scheme, an emerging composer programme run by Britten Sinfonia.

Rob will be taking part in workshops with Britten Sinfonia musicians, and receiving mentoring from Dani Howard. The scheme will culminate in a premiere of a new work for flute, viola and harp in a showcase concert at King's Place, London.
